The following is a step-by-step walk-through of how I built and configured HackerLab 9000, a virtual hacking lab network. This is a very rough edit, with no screenshots or command-line copypasta. In truth, what follows is simply the notes I took in order to guide my future self through the process again, should the machine ever need to be re-installed from scratch.

This was not my first attempt, either. My first dozen or so attempts at building the system failed, mostly due to the fact that I hadn’t yet learned some vital information that made everything fit into place.

So mainly, I wrote this to save myself some headache. But why not share this with the world? If you’re interested in putting together a virtual hacking lab, here’s how I made mine!
